Victor Nwakasi Esq.
B.L (Hons) (2003), LL.B (Hons) (2001)
Victor Nwakasi holds B.L (Hons), (2003) and LL.B (Hons,) (2001) from Nigeria Law School and The University of Ibadan , Ibadan Nigeria. He also obtained Certificate in Computer Education (CCE) from Prime Corp (Professional) Computer Institute, Port Harcourt, 1995. Victor was called to Nigerian Bar in June 2003.

Membership

Victor is a member of Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Pioneer Council Secretary - Section on Public Interest Law and Development Law (SPIDEL) of NBA, International Policy Adviser – NBA Member- International Association of Criminal Justice Practitioners (IACJP), Social Equity and Development Organization (SEDO), Honorary Member- West Africa Civil Society Forum (WACSOF).

Work Experience

His work experience: Company Secretary/Legal Adviser Global Crusaders Services Ltd (2001-2003), Legal Officer – SCID Nigeria Police Force, Borno Command 2003-2004, Legal/Programs Consultant, German Agency for Technical Cooperation (GTZ) / NCWS Project, Borno State (2003-2004), Interim Coordinator -Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Nigeria) 2005, Olisa Agbakoba & Associates -Associate Counsel - Development Law And Training Officer, (2005-till date).

Major Projects includes:

1. Member, Bid Team on the $25 Miilion Dollar BPE Senior Legal Advisory Consultancy by Olisa Agbakoba & Associates in 2005.

2. Worked as Chief Resource Person Hurilaws/British Council Capacity Building project for Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN ) in April 2004

3. Team Leader, Business Development Group (BDG) of Olisa Agbakoba & Associates charged with Professional Services Development, External Communication, Client Relations, Training and Capacity Development.

4. Developed various Community Based projects for Non- Governmental organizations based in North Eastern Nigeria.

5. Presently coordinates the Training program on Human Rights, Community Engagement, Voluntary Principles on Business and Human Rights, Conflict Issues etc for the staff of Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC-Nigeria) being handled by the firm of Olisa Agbakoba & Associates.

Publication:

1. Current Publication; Development Law Manual on Investment (2006), co-authored with Olisa Agbakoba SAN, President Nigerian Bar Association.

2. Corporate Gobvernance – Need for Regulation in Nigeria (Business day, October 11 2006)

3. Transformation of legal Framework for Bank Credits (Risk Managers Association of Nigeria (in Credit Risks- RIMA Professional Journal – April 2006 Edition).
