Payment of Bar Practicing Fees
The Chief Justice of Nigeria - Hon. Justice S. M. A Belgore, GCON has authorized
the payment of Bar Practicing fees through Guaranty Trust Bank(GTB) with effect
from 1st January, 2007. All legal practitioners enrolled at the Supreme Court of
Nigeria whether in private, public or corporate practice are expected to pay
practicing fees on yearly basis, in accordance with rules of professional
conduct.
The NBA has stipulated that failure to pay the prescribed practicing fee by 31st
March 2007, amounts to professional misconduct, a denial of right of audience in
any court, and preparation of any legal document.
